Mrs. Leaphart’s Earth Science Class Mines for Minerals

Mrs. Leaphart’s Earth Science students recently took learning to a whole new level with a hands-on mineral mining project! Instead of just reading about rocks and minerals in a textbook, students got the chance to dig in and experience the process for themselves.

Using tools and observation skills, students worked to uncover and identify different minerals, learning how geologists study the earth’s natural resources. The activity not only reinforced key concepts from class but also encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and curiosity.

What a fun and engaging way to bring science to life! Mrs. Leaphart’s class continues to show that learning is even more exciting when you can get your hands a little dirty.
