FIELD TRIPS

The 3rd grade held it's last field trip of the school year with the much anticipated visit to the South Carolina State House in Columbia. The class enjoyed the informative tour as well as a visit with  Senator Shane Massey.  The students also toured the grounds of the capital where they counted the steps, looked for the historic "star" markers, and found the statue to Edgefield native Strom Thurmond. The highlight of the trip though was the unexpected meeting with S.C. Governor Nikki Haley. Governor Haley quizzed the class on a variety of topics relating to the state and let the students ask her questions about being South Carolina's governor.

Students attended a field trip to see the musical "School House Rocks".
