Over the last 40 plus years, Wardlaw student-athletes have become accustomed to success in the classroom and in competition through relentless work ethic, tireless dedication, and perseverance. We like to say that tradition never graduates. The proof of this can be seen when you walk into the gym and see the 51 State Championship banners that are proudly displayed. Our tradition of excellence has been passed down from class to class, and also generation to generation. We have children whose parents were State Champions now competing for their own state titles. We have members of past State Championship teams who have returned to coach and teach at Wardlaw Academy. The qualities and success displayed by our student-athletes can be directly attributed to the families, parents, coaches, faculty, and staff who continuously strive for excellence and passionately carry on the Wardlaw traditions.
It is the vision of the Athletic Department of Wardlaw Academy to create a safe and competitive environment where students can grow in their relationship with God and learn the life skills of teamwork, personal excellence, discipline, dedication, focus, organization, and leadership. Due to the nature of competition, the athlete is tested, and true character is revealed. Because of this, the opportunity for character growth readily presents itself. I firmly believe Wardlaw Athletics measures success not just in the championships won, but in our ability to equip student athletes to become Christ-like leaders who impact their communities long after they graduate.
