     2007-08 Advancement Fund  

The Development Committee proudly announces that the Advancement Fund reached its $55,000.00 financial goal for the 2007-08 school year.  Thank you to our many faithful contributors!  Some of the ways that this money has been or will be spent:

• An illuminated message board sign (joint project with PPO)
• Central heat & air unit for science lab
• Supplies & equipment for science lab (Monsanto grant funds)
• Awning & sidewalk behind lower school building
• A laminator & Ellison machine with accessories (joint project with PPO)
• Playground basketball court improvements
• Computer technology
• Storage provisions
• 25% retained for long range project

Advancement Funds

Science Lab - The resurfacing of tabletops, the construction of a supply closet closet, the purchase of 6 new microscopes, painting, and additional improvements.

New Art Room:  The maintenance supply room was transformed into a new art room.  A window was added along with a utility sink, air and heat, new carpeting, and many other new features.

New Lower School Teachers' Lounge:

The storage room was converted into a teachers' lounge for the lower school.  New carpeting was added along with a fresh coat of paint and furniture.  Many other improvements were made to the room and restroom.

Computer Technology:   Our computer technology program continues to advance.  Computers and internet access ahve been added to the lower school building.  Additional computers have been pruchased throughout the school.  Improvements have been made to our website.

Teacher/Classroom/Library Needs:

A teacher wish list was fulfilled and classroom improvements were made.  The library received new computer workstations, chairs, and a media storage unit. 

25% of the total amount received was retained to be applied to a long- range goal.

The Advancement Fund mail-out campaign begins in October.  Please encourage others to give to this worthy development program.  We are asking that you make a commitment to giving annually to the Advancement Fund.  All contributions received improve and advance Wardlaw Academy.  Thank you for your generosity and support!

ANNUAL GIVING by all who love Wardlaw Academy should become a lifelong habit, and the time to start is now! Developing the habit of annual giving is critical to the success of this program. It's not the amount of the contribution, it's the participation in the program that's important. NO GIFT IS TOO SMALL!

Over the last five years, the Advancement Fund has received over $260,000.00 in contributions. 100% of the funds raised are used for improvements to the physical plant, enhancements, strengthening the quality of all school programs, and growth. Each year 25% is retained and will be applied to a long-range goal. Tuition covers ONLY the salaries of faculty and staff, and our general operating expenses. In order for Wardlaw to continue offering the advantages of small class sizes, opportunities in athletics, safe learning environment, affordable tuition, and also grow and advance, additional financial support is necessary.

Your gift is tax-deductible, and your gift may also be given anonymously. In addition to an annual contribution, you may also send memorials. Other ways to contribute include stocks and bonds, estate planning, and an employer's matching funds program.

All gifts received between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009 will be designated as 2008-09 school year contributions.

A new sound system

New Playground equipment: The Advancement Fund joined with Mr. Dan Watson in purchasing a piece of playground equipment.  Other improvements have also been made to the playground area.

To purchase teacher/classroom needs:
The Advancement Fund and the Patriot Parent Organization joined together to fulfill a "Teacher Wish List." Many items have been purchased, and many improvements made!
