WARDLAW J.V. WINS BIG OVER JEFFERSON DAVIS

                  On Thursday, October 16th, Wardlaw Academy’s J.V. Patriots football team played the Jefferson Davis Raiders at home.  The Wardlaw team had an exceptional game and beat the Raiders 44-6.  Many Patriots found the end zone for the first time this season and some for the first time in their J.V. careers.  Ryan Anderson started the scoring with a 65 yard run in the 1st quarter.  He was the Patriot’s leading rusher.  Then Douglas Herlong returned an interception 65 yards for a touchdown.  Jason Boozer scored his first career touchdown on a 2 yard run near the end of the 1st half.  Eric Bittner made the point after on a pass from Bailey Pendarvis.   The excitement continued in the 2nd half as Herlong caught a pass from Pendarvis for a 45 yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter.  Russ Wilkes ran in the point after.  Eric Bittner scored his first career touchdown on an 89 yard pass reception from Pendarvis in the 3rd quarter.  Pendarvis ran in the point after.  This was Bittner’s largest number of total yards and reception yards in a game.  He had 153 total yards and 3 receptions for 144 yards which led all receivers in the game.   Russ Wilkes scored his first touchdown of the season in the final minute of the game with a 1 yard run.  Kerry Cockrell finished the game running in the point after.   The defense had an outstanding game also.  J.W. Carroll was the leading tackler for the Patriots with 9 tackles.  Eric Bittner was second with 7.  Congratulations to the J.V. Patriots and their coaches for an outstanding game.

The Patriots travel to Andrew Jackson to play their final game of the season on Thursday, October 23rd.
